5.2 Primary Step

5.2.1 Check approval of working drawings.
5.2.2 Check site clearance for work.
5.2.3 Check wall/slab opening as per approved drawings.
5.2.4 Notify to client for inspection of receiving factory made duct.
5.2.5 Assembled the fabricated ducts at site with consultant/quality
                            Official for correctness of construction.

5.3 Installation & Insulation of Duct

5.3.1 For Internal Concealed Duct, Mark the routing of the ducts and install
                            GI threaded rod and supports.
5.3.2 Install the factory made Duct as per IFC drawing.
5.3.3 Seal the duct joints with approved sealant.
5.3.4 Apply sealant outside of the duct between the gap and corner and also
Apply inside of the duct (wherever it’s possible).
                   5.3.5 Stick self-adhesive aluminum alloy sticker pins (1 pin/0.16 sq. m.) to
                            The bare duct firmly.
5.3.6 Paste the bonding adhesive glue on the bare duct.
5.3.7 All joints to be insulate after completion of duct leak test (lightning test)
5.3.8 Approved fiber glass insulation shall be fixed firmly on the duct.
5.3.9 Insulation shall be overlapped by at least 100mm and shall be
Fastened with 65mm wide aluminum foil tape and tape shall be
                           Overlapped by 15mm.
5.3.10 tight insulation with aluminum band.
5.3.11 Duct shall be clean and all open ends shall be covered in a suitable

L\lights will be provided if the duct area is more than 10 sq. m.

6.1.3 The insulation of ducts can be carried out before light test,
But the joints should be free in order to be tested before insulation.

6.1.4 The test can be performed part by part according to the site condition.

6.1.5  Insert the light inside the duct inspected, move the light as near as
Possible in each transverse joint, for the case of smaller duct, flood by
Light each straight duct of 6 meters minimum length, then visual
Inspection shall be performed from outside the perimeter joint to
                                          Determine the leak.

6.1.6 On witness inspection, further activity shall be proceeded to conduct
Outright corrective action to seal the identified leaks.
