ADVANTAGES OF STUDYING PIPING ENGINEERING/TECHNICAL COURSE?

Piping course can be said to be a job oriented course. It helps one become industry ready. Usually, piping courses are pursued by students after they complete graduation in Engineering. But not all engineering graduates may take up this course. For example- Computer Engineering graduates. Piping course just won’t suit this branch! So, for which branches is piping course tailor made for? Those branches are- Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering! In this article, I will explain to you why doing piping course after Mechanical/Chemical Engineering will let you flourish!Every course has its advantages and disadvantages.

And also This entirely depends on what kind of lifestyle and job nature you would prefer in your workspace. If you are a hard working person and prefer a very stable career then manufacturing would be right choice. But the career growth is very slow and salary levels ranges are low when it is not a OEM company. The salary always depends on the no of years of experience and not on the skill sets you posses. This is hard reality .But if you want a better career growth i would suggest design field as your salary increases with the skill sets you develop. And if the company you work gets projects from overseas there are chances for you for a overseas trip as well. The working environment is also like software company when you are pursuing a career in design.

Piping and HVAC has a good scope in middle east only but salary levels are not good in India.

If you want to stay in India and want a good career with salary package then career in product design in Automotive or Aerospace field is best choice.

If you are looking for a right place to pursue training in design then i would suggest Element6 Technologies. Element 6 is a Bangalore based engineering services company focusing on Automotive and Aerospace sectors helping product development for reputed OEM companies. They will train you on product design with domain based training and not only on software training like other institutes. After training placements are assured and they can crack any interview after training .They take very few students per batch and admission is only through interview.

Trainer plays a key role in how a student get prepared for a job.I have seen many institute use previous batch students as trainers.Even if there are trainers they have no industrial experience or they dont have relevant experience in that job. So,the students who get trained by them under perform during interviews. But Element 6 have working professionals from industry as full time trainers. They hand hold the entire training period and make them industry ready. The training is very extensive and within 6 months they become competent enough to attend interviews which are meant for 1–2 years.

Apart from technical they focus more on softskill and personality developemnt training along with live projects and industrial visits a.So,Students get a real time work experience in the training and they are ready to work from day 1 when they are put in work environment.

Detail engineering in piping projects consists of the engineering, design, detail and layout of process and utility equipment, piping and instrumentation. This three-day course provides participants with the background required to design, engineer and complete piping assignments.

This course should be of interest to people employed in any area that piping is present (Refinery, Chemical, Power, Pulp and Paper, Utility etc.) The course introduces engineers, designers and construction personnel to the various procedures involved in the development and engineering of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P & ID’s), Equipment Plot Plans, and Piping Arrangements. Additional material shall cover pipe sizing, pump calculations and piping stress analysis.

Traditionally, there has been little formal training in this area and design decisions often have to be made based on practical considerations without formulae or code reinforcement. Completing piping drawings take up the majority of man-hours in the design of a process plant.

Each participant will receive a copy of the book, Detail Engineering and Layout of Piping Systems

Course RequirementsThe instructor requests that each participant brings his/her laptop to class.

You Will Learn To - Produce pipe sizing calculations and complete pressure drop calculations

- Select and size pumps and equipment

- Prepare equipment specifications and drawings

- Interpret piping specifications, instrumentation and process control

- Specify piping components, valves and fittings, piping hangers and supports

- Perform a static piping stress analysis
