HVAC Professional Must Know about Coil Terminology in Conststruction against performance!!

If you have ever dealt with commercial HVAC coils, you have probably come across numerous “industry terms” with little to no explanation as to what these terms actually mean. To further confuse you, some verbiage is specific to the actual construction of the coil, while others are only important when determining a coil’s performance. If you do not work with coils on a frequent basis, it is hard to decipher what exactly these terms are referring to. To help translate this industryhas come up with a list/glossary of the most common and relevant terms that you are likely to come across on most coil jobs.

 PERFORMANCE

• AHRI (Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute): Developed industry standards for air conditioning, heating, and commercial refrigeration equipment. All of CCA’s coils are AHRI-certified, so you know you’re getting dependable quality and performance in every product.
• 
  
• Air Pressure Drop: Air Pressure Drop is a result of Flow Rate, Fin Type, Rows and Fins per Inch. In addition, on either Chilled Water or DX (Evaporator) Coils, the air pressure drop is affected by the condensate on the fin surface.
• 
  
• Airflow (CFM): Cubic Feet per Minute, which refers to the amount of air flowing across the coil. A typical cooling coil should produce between 400-500 FPM. You want to avoid exceeding 550 FPM on all Chilled Water & DX Coils. Too little airflow means your coil is not running at peak capacity, while too much airflow can result in excess water carryover.

• Entering Air Dry Bulb Temperature: You guessed it! The sensible temperature of the air entering the coil.
• 
  
• Leaving Air Dry Bulb Temperature: The sensible temperature of the air leaving the coil. Why does this matter? If you are trying to replace and duplicate a coil’s performance, making sure that your new coil can meet or exceed the old coil’s leaving air temperature is a crucial factor.

• Entering Air Wet Bulb Temperature:This temperature signifies the amount of moisture in the air entering the coil.
• 
  
• Leaving Air Wet Bulb Temperature: Conversely, this temperature refers to the amount of moisture in the air exiting the coil.
• 
  
• Total Capacity: The sum total of a coil’s sensible and latent capacities.
• 
  
• Steam Pressure: Only relevant to steam coils, the saturated steam pressure at the inlet of a steam coil. Steam pressure is usually relative to the steam coil’s total capacity.
• 
  
• Steam Condensate: Again, applies only to steam coils and is a measure of the condensate generated by that steam coil.

CONSTRUCTION

• Casing Type: The supporting metal structure for tubes and the header. Different casing options include Flanged (standard), Slip & Drive, Inverted, Stackable, and Collared End Plates & End Plates only. Steam Coils require Pitched Casing to allow for adequate condensation drainage.
• Casing Material: The coil’s casing can be made from a variety of different materials. Options include: 14 or 16 Gauge, Galvanized Steel; 304 or 316 Stainless Steel; Copper & Aluminum. Please contact us directly to see about options other than those listed.
• Connection Material And Type: Standard connection types are MPT (Male Pipe Thread, threaded on the outside), FPT (Female Pipe Thread, threaded on the inside), ODS (Sweat Connections, no threads)
• Water & Steam Coils: Copper MPT, FPT, (with options for steel MPT & FPT)
• DX & Condenser Coils: Copper ODS normally.
  
• 
  
• Circuiting/Feeds: Circuiting is determined by the number of tubes in each row divided by the total number of tubes fed (or feeds). Feeds are also known as the number of parallel circuits in the coils. Always feel free to call Capital Coil’s sales department with any circuiting-related questions.
• 
  
  • Water Coil: Enter the coil’s performance data into CCA’s coil selection program, and select the “auto” sizing option to determine the optimal number of feeds.
  • Condenser Coil: Since the condenser is a rating program only, the user must enter a value for the number of feeds. A good rule of thumb is to have approximately 8 – 15 psi refrigerant pressure drop in the condenser.

  • DX Coil: Enter coil’s performance data into coil selection software program, and select the “auto” sizing option to determine the optimal number of feeds.
  • Steam: Always a full or double circuit
  • 
    
• Fin Height: FH is measured in the direction of the fins, or perpendicular to the direction of the tubes.
  • For 5/8″ tube coils, fin heights are available in increments of 1.5”
  • For 1/2″ tube coils, fin heights are available in increments of 1.25”
  • For 3/8″ tube coils fins are available in 1.00″ increments
• Fin Length: FL is always measured in the direction of the tubes, regardless of which direction the tubes are running.
• Fins per Inch: Represents the fin spacing on the coil. The number of fins per inch is an essential component when ordering a replacement. Using a standard ruler, simply count the number of fins per inch on the coil.
• Number of Rows: Rows represent the coil depth and are always counted in the direction of the air flow, regardless of how the coil is mounted. Count the number of rows by viewing the header end or the return bend end of the coil.
• Chilled Water and DX Coils – 1 to 12 rows
• Hot Water Coils – 1 to 12 rows
• Steam Coils – 1 to 2 rows
• Condenser Coils – 1 to 12 rows
• Booster Coils – 1 to 12 rows
• 
  
• Hand (Left or Right): A coil’s hand is determined by the direction of the airflow. 
•  The reason for this is when the coils are only 1 or 2 rows deep, they can be flipped over.  When a chilled water coil is 3+ rows deep, hand determination is much more important because it needs to be counter-flow.  Most suppliers determine hand designation with the air hitting you in the back of the head….do you want the connections on the right or left?
• You’ve probably heard the term “counter-flow” countless times, but here’s the simplest explanation.  For peak performance, you want the air and the fluid traveling in opposite directions through the coil.  Is it the end of the world if your coils are not counter-flow?  The short answer is no, but you will lose anywhere from 12-15% of the output.  So if your coils are piped incorrectly, don’t expect to get the full performance.  Steam and hot water coils are 1 or 2 rows deep, so counter-flow is pretty much irrelevant.  However, it can make a big difference with any chilled water or direct expansion coils (3-12) rows deep.
  We also get asked many times “what is the proper way to pipe coils?”  Put simply, steam coils should always be fed on the highest connection and the return on the lowest connection.  Water coils should always be fed on the lowest connection and returned on the top connection.
• Look at the finned area of the coil, and if the air is hitting you in the back of the head, look to see which side of the coil the headers are located. If the header(s) are located on the right side, then the coil is right-handed. Likewise, if the header(s) is located on the left side, it is left-handed. An important point to remember is that you always want the airflow to run counter to fluids, refrigerant, and steam flow.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Laminar Flow: Tends to occur at lower fluid velocities, below a threshold at which it becomes turbulent. In other words, laminar flow is smooth while turbulent flow is rough. Greater heat transfer occurs in a coil with turbulent flow as opposed to a calm, laminar flow.
• Dry Weight: The estimated weight of the coil; not counting internal fluids or packaging.

NEET Application Number, Password

நீட் தேர்வுக்கு ஆன்லைன் விண்ணப்பதிவில் மொத்தம் நான்கு நிலைகள் உள்ளது. விண்ணப்பப் பதிவு, சான்றிதழ் பதிவேற்றம், சான்றிதழ் பதிவேற்றத்தை பரிசோதித்தல், விண்ணப்பக் கட்டணம் செலுத்துததல், விண்ணப்பப் பதிவு நிறைவு செய்தல். இவற்றில் நீங்கள் இப்போது முதல் நிலையான விண்ணப்பப் பதிவு செய்துள்ளீர்கள். இதன் சுருக்கமான விபரங்கள் திரையில் காட்டப்படும்.

விண்ணப்பப் பதிவின் ஒரு அங்கமாக, எந்த மொழியில் நீட் தேர்வு வேண்டும் என்று கேட்கப்படும். மாணவர்கள் இதில் உங்களுக்கு விருப்பமான மொழியை தேர்வு செய்து கொள்ளலாம். தமிழ் மொழியை தேர்வு செய்தால், நீட் தேர்வுகள் தமிழில் இருக்கும். கேள்விகள் தமிழ் மொழியில் கேட்கப்பட்டிருக்கும். ஆங்கிலம் தேர்வு செய்தால், கேள்வித்தாள் ஆங்கிலத்தில் இருக்கும். கேள்விகள் அனைத்தும் ஆங்கிலத்தில் கேட்கப்படும்.

இதே போல், எந்த நகரத்தில் தேர்வு மையம் வேண்டும் என்று கேட்கப்படும். மாணவர்கள் தங்களுக்கு அருகாமையில் உள்ள நகரங்களை அடுத்தடுத்து தேர்வு செய்து கொள்ளலாம். மாணவர்கள் அளிக்கும் பரிந்துரையின் அடிப்படையிலேயே, தேர்வு மையங்கள் ஒதுக்கப்படும்.

கல்வி விபரங்கள்

அடுத்ததாக மாணவர்கள் தங்களுடைய கல்வி விபரங்களை அளிக்க வேண்டும். 10, 11, 12 ஆகிய வகுப்புகள் படித்த விபரங்கள் தனித்தனியே கேட்கப்படும். அவற்றை ஒவ்வொன்றாக கவனமாக பூர்த்தி செய்ய வேண்டும். நீங்கள் எந்த பள்ளியில் படித்தீர்கள், எந்த ஆண்டு தேர்ச்சி பெற்றீர்கள், பள்ளியின் இருப்பிடம், அந்த வகுப்பில் பெற்ற மதிப்பெண்கள், தேர்வு எண் என அனைத்துத் தகவல்களும் அளிக்க வேண்டும்

Save as Draft

அனைத்து கல்வி விபரங்களையும் அளித்தப்பிறகு, 'Save as Draft' என்பதை க்ளிக் செய்து, தகவல்களை சேமித்து வைத்துக் கொள்ளலாம். நேரடியாக 'Next' என்பதை க்ளிக் செய்து அடுத்தக்கட்ட பதிவிற்கும் செல்லாம். ஆனால், சில நேரங்களில் இணையத்தின் வேகம் குறைவாக இருக்கும். அப்போது எந்த நேரத்தில் வேண்டுமானாலும், நீங்கள் பதிவு செய்யும் விபரங்கள் அழிந்து விடும். எனவே, 'Save as Draf' க்ளிக் செய்து, தகவல்களை சேமித்து வைத்துக் கொள்வது நலம். நீங்கள் ஒரு முறை சேமித்து கொண்டால், எப்போது வேண்டுமானாலும் அப்ளிக்கேஷன் நம்பர், பாஸ்வேர்டு கொடுத்து, விண்ணப்பப் பதிவை தொடரலாம்

NEET Dress Code

இருப்பிட முகவரி பதிவு: உங்களுடைய நிரந்தர இருப்பிட முகவரியை பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டும். வீட்டு எண், தெரு, நகர், கிராமம், பின்கோடு, மாநிலம், மாவட்டம், இமெயில் முகவரி, டெலிபோன் நம்பர் என அனைத்தையும் பூர்த்தி செய்ய வேண்டும். இதே போல், இப்போது நீங்கள் எங்கு தங்கி உள்ளீர்கள், அலுவல் சார்ந்து உங்களை தொடர்பு கொள்ள வேண்டுமென்றால், எந்த முகவரிக்கு தொடர்பு கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதையும் பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டும். Permanent Address, Correspondence Address இரண்டும் ஒன்றாக இருக்கலாம்.

பின்பு, பெற்றோர்/ பாதுகாவலரின் விபரங்களை பதிவு செய்ய வேண்டும். பெற்றோரின் கல்வித்தகுதி, வேலை, வருடாந்திர ஊதியம் ஆகியவை தனித்தனியே நிரப்ப வேண்டும்.

நீட் தேர்வின் போது ஆடை விதிமுறைகள் தொடர்பான விபரங்கள் தெரியுமா என்று கேட்கப்படும். அதனை டிக் செய்து கொள்ள வேண்டும். இறுதியாக பாதுகாப்பு குறியீடு கொடுத்து விண்ணப்பப் பதிவு செய்து கொள்ள வேண்டும்.

NEET 2020 Correction

What do you take to Umrah?

Umrah for a Muslim means preparing oneself spiritually, physically and practically. While spiritual preparations depend from individual to individual, a complete checklist of things to carry on Hajj or Umrah can make your practical preparations easier.

We present you with a comprehensive list of items or documents that you must need to take with you on the sacred journey of Umrah. We organize this list by keeping the needs of different pilgrims so you can mold it according to your requirements. Pick the items that you feel are necessary for your sacred voyage. You can buy some of these items from the local shops in Makkah and Madina so in case you want to travel light, you can avail the option. Here’s a quick look at what all should make it to your Hajj/Umrah checklist:

Essential Documents

• Passport including Visa Documentation: Packing the travel essential must be your priority so pay special attention to these; otherwise you won’t be able to travel. Upon your arrival in Saudi Arabia, the Hajj authorities will take your passport and return it to you at the time of your departure.                                     
• Proof of Vaccination: Each and every pilgrim must provide proof of vaccination against the quadrivalent (A/C/Y/W135) meningococcal meningitis. Pilgrims from certain countries also need to have valid certificates of vaccination
  
  
  
  against yellow fever and polio.
• Passport Size Photographs: It is recommended to take at least 4 passport-size photos with you. These photographs may be needed for documents and procedures during the span of your Umrah trip. Instead of worrying there, it is better to take it with you.
• Saudi Riyals: Though you can change your currency in Saudi Arabia. It is better to bring a minimum of about 450 SAR for immediate expenses until you get familiar with getting your money exchanged locally. You can exchange money at the airport in Saudi Arabia or at local banks or money changers in Makkah and Madinah.
• Money: No one there will lend you money so pack with you enough amount that covers your expenditure. Plan your budget beforehand.
• Credit Card/Debit: For emergency, purposes take your debit or credit card to withdraw money from ATM.
• Emergency Contact Numbers: Note down all the important numbers in your pocket-size diary. You should have the number of your group leader and the number of your country’s consulate. If you have any relatives in Saudi Arabia write down their number as well.
• Photocopy of Passport: As we already mentioned above that Saudi authorities will take your passport at your arrival so you should have one or two copies of your passport with you.
• Valid tickets and a full travel itinerary also be in your checklist.

Prayer Essentials:

• Pocket Size Quran: You can find the copies of Quran everywhere in the mosques but it is more convenient to have your own. Mini Quran in your pocket allows you to remain seated without the need to get up, possibly causing you to lose your spot in the mosque.
• Book of Supplications: There are many pocket-size dua books available on market. Buy such books which have translations of each supplication so you know the meaning of what you’re reciting.
• Supplication List: Make a list of supplications you’d like to make during your Umrah journey, especially during the Day of Arafat. List the supplications you’d like to make comprising supplications for The Prophet PBUH, dua for your ancestors, yourself, your family and relatives, dua for the entire Muslim community especially those Muslim brothers and sisters suffering around the world, and also for those who passed away.
• Digital Dhikr Counter or Tasbeeh: You must have your tasbeeh in your pocket all the time so you can make dhikr anywhere you want. Digital Dhikr counters are very convenient.
• Seven Bead Tasbeeh: This is specifically needed to count the circuits during Tawaf and Sa’ey.
• Prayer Mat: It is optional but can help you when there is traffic or crowds on Haram or roads. Prayer mats are quite useful during travel and can double up against burning sun shields. Don’t buy a heavyweight or fancy mat instead look for one that fits into your pocket or bag.
• Umrah Guide Book: A pocket-size guide can be useful if you happen to forget anything.

Baggage Essentials:

• Hard-Shell Suitcase: Purchase a good quality hard case suitcase with a built-in locking system. Don’t buy soft, vinyl suitcases as they can easily be cut open, also avoid taking very expensive ones as there is also a possibility of theft. Choose the medium size suitcase as traveling with a huge suitcase can be difficult. Also, take suitcase Locks and Keys and luggage tags.

Clothing and Accessories Essentials:

• Ihram: The dress code for pilgrims should be appropriate. Don’t not buy very thin cotton ihram as they may become uncomfortable if you sweat. Toweling or thick cotton cloth is preferable. Pack an extra Ihram in case the first one becomes impure.
• Safety Pins: Small but necessary item to fasten the upper piece of Ihram so it does not fall from the shoulders.
• Waist Pouch: Take a good quality waist or neck pouch to keep valuable items such as money, credit card/debit, documents and keys. Wear your pouch all the time and don’t leave it at your accommodation. As there are many pick-pocketing cases observed so hold on to your pouch in crowded areas.
• Comfortable Clothes: Pack light-weight, loose-fitting clothes that require little to no ironing and can be washed easily as well as appropriate for the journey.
• Bathroom Slipper: Don’t forget to pack pair of decent, waterproof slippers that you can wear in bathrooms.
• Headwear: Prayer hat for men and hijab for women.
• Socks and underwear: The marble tiles in Haramain can get extremely cold so it is better to wear socks to protect your feet.
• Light Jacket: If you’re performing Umrah during winters, pack a light jacket as nights and early mornings get cold.

Toiletries:

• Unscented soap, handwash, shampoo/conditioner, and toothpaste along with big and small towels are necessary items to pack.
• Pack toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet rolls/pocket tissues, wet wipes, hairbrush, shaving machine/disposable razors, fragrance-free deodorant, suction hooks, small mirror, nail clipper, small scissor, and toiletries bag.

Medication: Basic medicine must be in your bag, pack your current medication prescribed by your physician, cold and flu relief medication, pain relief tablets, travel sickness tablets, moisturizing cream, lip balm, Vaseline, cough syrup/throat lozenges, diarrhea tablets, bandages, sunblock, muscle pain ointment, and antibiotics.

Electronics: Pack the electronics like universal travel adapter, mobile phone, Saudi sim card, mobile phone charger, headphones, wristwatch, alarm clock, and travel iron.
