1. Scope of Work
1.1 This method statement explains the installation of HVAC units (AHU, ACCU
& Ventilation Fan), including shifting the equipments and accessories at
required location, assembling and installation of equipments.

3. Responsibilities
3.1 Mechanical
/ HVAC Engineer

He shall be overall
responsible for the complete activity including, but not limited to:
3.1.1 Assigning
workman crew
3.1.2 Sequence of
activities to be carried out for the work as per this Method
Statement.
3.1.3 Stage
inspection & surveillance
3.1.4
Notification to client engineer for inspection and daily commissioning
activities.
3.1.5 Provide day
to day guidance and delegate works as necessary.
3.1.6 Ensure that
the equipment and tools required for carrying out the test are
available, maintained and used in safe manner.
3.1.7 Produce all
necessary records for the confirmation of testing works completed
and pass to QC inspector as required.
3.2 Mechanical/HVAC Supervisor

He shall be overall
responsible for the activity including, but not limited to:
3.2.1 Assigning worksman crew.
3.2.2 Sequence of activities to be carried out for the work.
3.2.3 Ensure the quality levels are maintained.
3.2.4 Ensure that the equipment and tools required for carrying out the test are
available,
maintained and used in safe manner.
3.3 QA/QC Inspector
3.3.1 Maintain records of quality control ckeck sheets / report formats
for the site

4.
Control Measures
4.1 Quality Control
4.1.1 Ensure availability of latest released for construction drawings and
specifications.
4.1.2 Ensure the tools/equipment used for testing & commissioning purpose is
calibrated and certificates available.
4.2
Safety
4.2.1 All equipment and accessories have been certified for their capacity
And integrity.
4.2.2 All personnel are issued with Personal Protective Equipment.
4.2.3 Care should be taken while lifting loads. Proper tagline must be used
for guiding while lifting loads.
4.2.4 Should not impose any appreciable mechanical strain on fixing of th
connection and
shall not cause any harmful mechanical damage
to the equipment.
4.2.5 Transfort material in stacked condition and secure all loads adequately
before transport.
In case of loading by a loader, no one
shall be
present inside
the vehicle. Do not keep the truck in running condition
while loading.
4.2.6 Inspect crane and all lifting tools & tackles before use. Never
overload
any
equipment/tools beyond their recommended SWL. Ensure no
overhead lines
abstract the equipment movements in case it
happens proper isolation permit to be obtained from responsible
project engineer.
4.2.7 No one should move under load at any circumtances. Engage only
experienced
person to make lifting arrangement.
4.2.8 Select correct type of fulling/lifting equipment and do not overload the
tackles.
4.2.9 Provide hand gloves and educate
workers for safe operation.
4.2.10 Always use trolley for gas cylinder keeps vertical position.
4.2.11 Always use fire blanket barricade and keep fire extinguisher during brazing.
5. Sequence of Activities
5.1 Installation
Procedure (AHU)
5.1.1 Check approval of IFC
drawing.
5.1.2 Check approval of
manufacturer and model.
5.1.3 Check equipment visually
for any physical damage.
5.1.4 Lift and place the
AHU by using crane or forklift.
5.1.5 Ensure that the
pedestal for the equipment as per approved
drawing.
5.1.6 Assemble the AHU as
per vendor drawing.
5.1.7 Ensure the
anti-vibration rubber pads between the foundation and
units are provided.
5.1.8 Check the level of the
unit.
5.1.9 Check the pulley
alignment and belt tension for units.
5.1.10 Connect the
refrigerant piping in the units.
5.1.11 Connect drain pipe to
the units and P traps will be made according to
manufacture standard.
5.1.12 Connect final duct
connections to the units.
5.1.13 Terminate the
electrical cables as per manufactures instruction.
5.1.14 Check related all
duct works are completed, building air conditioning
area is completed
with doors, windows and partitions fixed and area
is dust free, as
applicable.
5.1.15 Carry out the
pre-commissioning checks and commission the units
and record the
data.
5.2 Installation
Procedure (ACCU)
5.2.1 Check approval of IFC
drawings.
5.2.2 Check approval of
manufacturer and model.
5.2.3 Check equipment visually for
physical damage.
5.2.4 Ensure that the
pedestal for the equipment as per approved drawing.
5.2.5 Ensure that the free
air movement is available around the units without
any obstruction and
provision for the refrigerant piping for the units as
per the approved
drawing.
5.2.6 Install the condensing
unit as per drawing.
5.2.7 Ensure units are
mounted on pedestal/platform with foundation pads.
5.2.8 Check the level of the
equipment.
5.2.9 Connect the
refrigerant piping and terminate electrical connection and
control wiring to
the units as per the electrical wiring
provided on the
unit.
5.2.10 Perform pipe flushing
and pressure test as described in method
statement for
copper pipe. When finish the above activities the
system is ready
for commissioning.
5.2 12 Carry out the
pre-commissioning checks and commission the
units
and record the
data.
5.3 Installation Procedure
(Exhaust Fan)
5.3.1 Check approval for IFC
drawings.
5.3.2 Check approval of manufacturer
and model.
5.3.3 Check wall/slab opening as
per approved drawings.
5.3.4 Carry out the visual
inspection of fan for any physical damage.
5.3.5 Install the fans and
tighten the nuts and bolts tightly.
5.3.6 Ensure fans are
mounted on the floor with foundation pads.
5.3.7 Check the position, levels
of the extract fan as per approved drawings.
5.3.8 Carry out the
pre-commissioning checks and commission the units
and record the data.
5.4 Installation
Procedure for (Chemical Filtration Unit)
5.4.1. Check approval of IFC drawings.
5.4.2
Check approval of manufacturer and model
5.4.3
Carry out the visual inspection of the unit for any physical damage.
5.4.4
Lift and place the CFU by using crane or forklift.
5.4.5
Ensure that for the equipment as per approved drawing.
5.4.6
Ensure the anti-vibration rubber pads between the foundation and
units are provided.
5.4.7
Check the level of the unit.
5.4.8
Check the pulley alignment and belt tension for unit.
5.4.9
Connect final duct connection to the units.
5.4.10 Terminate the CFU fan electrical cables as per manufactures
instruction.
5.4.11 Carry out pre-commissioning check and commission the units and
record data.
5.5 Installation Procedure
for (Package Air Handling Unit)
5.5.1 Check approval
of IFC drawings
5.5.2
Check approval of manufacturer and model.
5.5.3
Check equipment visually for any physical damage.
5.5.4
Lift & place the PACU by using crane or forklift.
5.5.5
Ensure that the pedestal for the equipment as per approved drawing.
5.5.6
Ensure the anti-vibration rubber pads between the foundation and units
are provided.
5.5.7
Ensure that the free air movement is available around the compressors
without any obstruction.
5.5.8
Check the level of the unit.
5.5.9
Check the fully alignment and belt tension for units.
5.5.10 Connect drain pipe to the unit and P traps will be made according
to
manufacturer standard.
5.5.11 Connect final duct connection to the units.
5.5.12 Terminate the electrical cables as per manufacturer instruction.
5.5.13 Check related all duct works are completed, building air
conditioning
Area is completed with doors,
windows and partitions fixed and area is dust
free ass applicable.
5.5.14 Carry out the pre-commissioning checks and commission the units
and record
the data.
5.6 Installation
Procedure for (DX-Fan Coil Unit)
5.6.1 Check approval of IFC drawing.
5.6.2 Check approval of manufacturer and model.
5.6.3 Check the equipment visually for any physical damage.
5.6.4 Mark the location of the unit as per the approved drawing and mark
the
location for holes. Drill the hole with appropriate drill bit and
install
appropriate threaded rod of required length.
5.6.5 Install the unit and ensure that it’s secured while lifting and
bolting to
anchor rod. Level the unit and check it as per drawing. Check the
provision
For the drainage and ensure the
free flow of drainage water.
5.6.6. Connect final duct connections according to the approved drawing.
5.6.7
Install the outdoor compressor unit and connect the refrigerant pipes (refer
To 5.2).
5.6.8 Connect drain pipe to the unit and P trap will be made according
to the
Manufacture standard.
5.6.9 Terminate the electrical and control wiring as per approved
drawing and
Wiring diagram provided on the units respectively.
5.6.10 Carry out the pre-commissioning checks and commission the units
Prior to start up.
5.7 Installation
Procedure for (Split Unit)
5.7.1
Check the approval of IFC drawing.
5.7.2
Check the approval of manufacturer and model.
5.7.3
Check equipment visually for any physical damage.
5.7.4
Mark the location of the unit as per approved drawing and mark the location
for holes. Drill the hole with appropriate drill bit and install the
unit direct on
the wall as per manufacture recommendation method.
5.7.5
Level the unit and check it as per the drawing. Check the provision for the
drainage and ensure the free flow of drainage water.
5.7.6
Install the thermostat on the wall.
5.7.7
Install the outdoor compressor unit and connect the refrigerant pipes (refer
to 5.2)
5.7.8
Connect drain pipe to the unit and P trap will be made according to the
manufacture standard.
5.7.9
Terminate the electrical and control wiring as per the approved drawing
and wiring diagram provided on the units respectively.
5.7.10 Carry out the pre-commissioning checks
and commission the units
prior to start up.
