It lay surrounded by magnificent deodar forests. Chail at 2226 m was somewhat higher than  Shimla. Today, the Maharaja's creation can be experienced by everyone. PLACES OF INTEREST

SADHUPUL : Between Kandaghat and Chail is this village and bridge astride the Ashwani stream. A good picnic spot.

ADVENTURE AND FISHING : A dozen or so trek routes lead out of Chail. Trails lead upto the Choor Peak and to Shimla. There is fishing on Giri river at Gaura, 29 km away.

The Bilaspur district is situated in Satluj valley in the outer hills. Satluj is the main river which passes through the middle of the district and divide it into almost equal parts. The Luhnu cricket ground is in the new township adjoining to the largest man made Gobind sagar lake which is the reservoir of the Bhakra nangal dam

BILASPUR - The Lake City      
Bilaspur: Formerly the seat of the ruler of the State is now submerged in the Gobind Sagar, it was situated on the south east side of the Satluj. Bilaspur Township is situated just above the old town of Bilaspur at a height of 6,70m above in sea level. The new Bilaspur Township can be truely described as the first planned hill town of the country.

Govind Sagar Lake     
Gobind Sagar (673m):It is 90 Km long and covered an area of about 170sq. km. it is a host to several water and shore birds. Fishing is a regular activity here.      
Vyas Cave     
Vyas Cave :The name of sage Vyas is well known in these parts. It is situated at the foot of the new township, the belief is that Vyas Rishi meditated in this cave.
Naina Devi (915m):
the famous shrine of Naina Devi is 57 Km from Bilaspur and 34 from Kiratpur Sahib. The temple, up on a hill, presents a panoramic view of the town of anandpur Sahib also of the low-lying ranges by the side of flowing Sutlej.

Dharamshala

Dhartamshala has awesome places for excursions like Dal Lake,St John's Church,MCLeodganj (Little Lhasa), Bhagsunath, Heavenly trek to Triund And  many others   
  
Access
By Air : Dharamshala can be approached by air from Delhi. The nearest airport is at Gaggal,just l3 km away. Pathankot, the nearest railway station is 85 km away.


By Road : Taxis for Dharamshala are available at both places from Pathankot the drive takes about three hours. Or you can drive from Delhi (526 km) via Chandigarh, Kiratpur and Bilaspur - this should take around 8 hours. From Delhi and Shimla, luxury buses ply to Dharamshala.
