Dear All,
I would like to share the details of Marine Courses. This collection made for one of my Neighbor   friend  Mr.Raj Kumar. All this details I dedicated to him & whomever want to know about marine Courses .

Marine Engineering assures excellent growth opportunities and exciting job profiles for those interested in working on the ships or at the coasts. Marine Engineering courses comprise with construction and maintenance of ships, other sailing vessels, ports and cargo facilities at waterfront. Marine engineers take complete charge of engine room of a ship and functioning of various devices like electric motors, steam engines, propulsive engines, etc. They also develop newer designs or models for the engines of sailing vessels and check the efficiency of existing equipments like gas or stem turbines, diesel or nuclear propulsion plants. Executing new technologies like superconductivity, fuel cells and hydrodynamics are being explored in this field to make the vessels more efficient, thus supplying this field with even more interesting job propositions.

Some of the skills taught in marine engineering are  maintenance, repair and reassembly of shipboard engines and equipment, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, control engineering, crew management, pollution prevention, fire fighting, use of lifeboat, medical care, survival techniques, etc.

A career in Marine engineering opens up many opportunities for people who want to stay on land or wish to sail on the sea. A variety of new technologies are coming up and new experiments being conducted in this field, opportunities for adventurous and inquisitive youngsters have increased manifolds.
By  the completion of Marine Engineering courses in India, students can opt for lucrative career options both on and off shore. After completing the degree as a marine engineer, one can get a job in a ship as a third assistant engineer or fourth engineer with a starting salary of Rs. 40,000-Rs.60,000 .

Merchant Navy a good choice for adventurous persons-
Merchant Navy (or Merchant Marine) refers to the merchant field of a country, which varies in capacity. Sea-farers on merchant vessels, who hold various military like ranks and responsibilities sometimes members of various maritime trade unions are required by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers to carry Merchant Mariners.

Courses : Career in Merchant Navy can be pursued either as an officer or a rating in mainly two specialized fields, i.e. Marine Engineering and Nautical (deck).

To become a seafarer, following streams of entries (Pre-Sea courses) are available to Indian citizens in the Government as well as in private training institutions (recognized and approved by Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping:-

3 year degree course in Nautical Science for (10+2) students.

4 year degree course in Marine Engineering for (10+2) students.

2 year course for Diploma Holders.

1 year course for Graduate Mechanical Engineers.

Ocean Engineering
The course in Ocean Engineering deals with the design and use of vessels moving on the sea.
Ocean Engineers play an important role in designing of ship, boat and submarine. They learn to devise vessels to withstand salinity, water pressure and power of waves.  Along with the usual civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, they are taught ocean related science and designing.  They are also trained in Fluid Mechanics, Thermo Dynamics and Electrical Circuit.   Besides, subjects like Data Analysis, Ocean instrumentation, under water Aquatics, Marine Hydro Dynamics, Oceanography and Marine geo Mechanical are taught. It is a must to have studied Ocean Engineering to design the harbors and build constructions in the sea.
For those who have completed Ocean Engineering course, job opportunities in private, government institutions and corporate organizations are available.  They can also engage in researches related to ocean erosion, sea shore oil resources, Environmental Protection, Global Temperature variation, reusable energy and sea transport.
